Located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Bread, Stock and Barrel Traditional Foods Cooking School is a hands-on experience in cooking and preparing traditional foods. Why traditional foods? Traditional foods such as sourdough breads, cultured dairy, fermented vegetables and bone broth are examples of foods cultures have eaten for thousands of years that nourish and sustain. We have lost our sense of how to prepare and incorporate these foods into our diets, and so we are missing key healing and nourishing components in our diets. Ann offers workshops that will equip you to better nourish you and your family by bringing back traditional food preparation with modern techniques. (Think food processor and crock pot!)
Additionally, Ann addresses the questions of our day. Are fats healthy? What kind of fats are healthy? How do we source them? What is the best way to prepare them. You will find help with the preparation of whole grains, as well as techniques for grain replacements in special healing diets. Remember, most workshops are hands-on, so you will prepare foods in class and take them home to enjoy. Ann also helps you understand how to incorporate healing foods into your menu, whether you are going grain free, gluten free, paleo, GAPS diet, low carbohydrate, ketogenic or simply whole foods.
Since many workshops are hands-on, you will take home a food that you prepare along with recipes and notes. Some workshops will be demonstration, such as Bone Broth and Fats for Health and Weight Loss, but will still include tasting, recipes and notes. Current workshops are listed above, and future workshops are listed below. If you have questions about a workshop, simply email [email protected]
I look forward to seeing you at a workshop in the near future! Don't forget to bring a friend or family member.
